Not that fast: A cold sore is usually something that is latent, meaning the herpes virus is quiet but there, and comes out in times of local trauma or irritation, or body weakness like with a virus. I suspect that other episodes of oral sex caused the herpetic infection, or it's just simply a cold sore like normal. A primary herpetic infection is much more widespread than just one cold sore.
