A member asked:

My period is making me want to have a hyst. i cannot deal with this anymore! what are the risks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Major surgery: A hysterctomy, by any method, is major surgery with all the risks and complications such as bleeding, infection, injury to bowel bladder or ureters, as well as anesthesia complications. It is not something that surgeons do without a good indication(reason). If your periods are abnormal, surgery may or may not be recommended by your md so please have him/her evaluate you.
