Electricians learn: How not to get shocked as it is just not very pleasant to do so. Short limited shocks shouldn't hurt you much and you would learn fast on how to avoid them in the future.

You will learn it...: You probably experienced a few times in your life already--touching someone wearing a wool sweater in the winter? At times, we do get a little shock from this--real electric shock is similar, but more intense and can be quite dangerous. But, like other professionals in other careers, you will learn about electrical properties and how to avoid being shocked. Don't let this fear deter you. Good luck.
