Multiple prior A's.: There are essentially three approaches to managing hyperthyroidism: surgical removal of gland, radiation therapy to the gland, medication (tapazole, propylthiouracil) to block the gland from taking up iodine and forming too much hormone. The symptoms must be treated often first with beta-blocker. Treatment options need by discussed and tailored for each person, depending on age, other probs, etc.
