Can be normal.: The healthiest hearts display a variation of heart rate termed sinus arrhythmia; it's caused by the effects of ones nervous system on the heart. However, one can be having atrial or ventricular premature beats, or other arrhythmias, as well. Your doctor might be able to detect which it is or it may require a 24 hour monitor test to find the answer.
