Ask Labor ; Delivery: At 39 weeks, having contractions and vaginal "discharge" means it's time to call the labor and delivery nurse, and/or the obstetrician, to see if it is time to head to the hospital. The doctor or nurse will want to know how many minutes apart the contractions are, whether or not they are coming closer, plus what kind and how much "discharge" is coming from the vagina.
