Crepitus: You are probably referring to crepitus which is an audible sound or a palpable vibration felt on joint movements. This is caused by the movements of the joint tendons and ligaments and can be dnxesy sign if developing arthritis. A good history and exam will usually clarify if the crepitus is of any significance or not.
