Need more info: In young people hip pain can be due to poor alignment between the top of the thigh bone and the hip socket, causing impingment. It can also be a tear in the labrum. More serious conditions involve poor blood supply to the head of the thigh bone, called avascular necrosis, and then there is arthritis, damage to the cartilage, bursitis and tendonitis.
