Very hard to answer: The first (and safest) thing to do is to avoid the triggers for your migraines as much as possible (this is different for every person). If a migraine occurs, the safest (and least effective) drug to take is tylenol (acetaminophen). What drug to take, if any, if tylenol (acetaminophen) doesn't work, is a matter of debate. Butalbital has been used, and some docs recommend a triptan (though others do not think this is safe).
