A member asked:

Is it possible to have too many antioxidants? i eat a lot of blueberries and am wondering if it can have a reverse affect?

No reverse effect: Eating "too many" blueberries will not result in oxidative damage. In theory, if all a person ate was blueberries, they could develop nutritional deficiencies, but the antioxidant compounds found in blueberries will not generate excessive reactive oxygen species to create cell damage.

OD on blueberries!: I certainly have never seen anyone over-dosed on blueberries, but i suppose anything is possible. Blueberries are good for general health, but having too much of one thing may mean you are not eating something else that are also important, such as leafy veggies, diaries, other fruits, meats/eggs, nuts etc... If u are doing this already and no stomach upset, enjoy the berries. Good luck.
