A member asked:

I have audiogenic seizures. they excessive neuron activity is in the lower medulla. what test can i do to prove convulsions. done and eeg. was negativ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Capture a spell: While you might have true epileptic audiogenic seizures, these are quite rare, and it may be that you are having non-epileptic spells triggered by the stress of loud noises. The definitive test would be an eeg performed while you experience a typical spell. This might require several days of monitoring, but if you have a spell with loss of awareness and eeg is normal, epileptic spell is ruled out.
