Many poss. causes : Given your age, degenerative causes predominate. I'll assume you did not suffer a trauma to your neck. Infection could also cause neck pain but much less commonly, mostly IV drug users. Best thing is to see a specialist in non-operative spine care. Physiatrists are M.D.'s who specialize in the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. If you have arm symptoms, seek care soon.
