Yes: The clinical manifestations of CF (cystic fibrosis) can be quite variable. "mild" forms of CF exists and most likely have to do with a combination of genetic and environmental factors that ameliorate the disease.

Yes: Chopin, the composer, almost certainly had CF rather than tuberculosis and he lived into a productive adult live when no treatment was available. There are alleles that are even milder.
