Depends on situation: In general, you should see a md for a dog bite, to determine if antibiotics are warranted or not. Generally dog bites only require cleansing, since dog teeth do not harbor many bad bacteria. But other factors should be determined, if on the hand, was a tendon involved. If on the face, does a plastic surgeon need to be called. Was the attack unprovoked, does the health department need called.

Agree w Dr. Fung: If bitten by a dog ; wound is minor - wash w soap ; water, apply antibiotic ointment ; cover w bandaid /bandage. Get tetanus shot if you haven’t had one in last 10 years or your don’t know. For more serious wound or possible infection, apply pressure ; obtain urgent care. Per mayo clinic, if last tetanus shot was > 5 years ago ; wound is “deep or dirty”, a booster shot may be recommended.
