Interested to know how does hiv affect the lymphatic system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Quickly: People whose lymphoid tissues have been samled during during the acute phase show a striking depletion of t-lymphocytes. These recover, then regress again as the infection progresses unless treated. B-lymphocytes and the germinal centers they produce under a compensatory hyperplasia which helps some and accounts for the polyclonal gammopathy seen later.
