A LOT: Child abuse is an under-reported factor in many mental illnesses like depression, anxiety disorders, etc. It's also linked to chronic pain conditions like chronic pelvic pain, fibromyalgia, ibs, etc. It's not a direct "this causes that" phenomenon, but people are whole beings and respond to events on many levels at the same time. If your primary caretakers harm you, it does not inspire trust.
