Look at it: An ulcer is a hole in your skin. Somtimes it can be covered with callous tissue. If you are unsure see a podiatrist.

Look for a hole: A foot ulcer appears as a hole or break in the skin, usually round or oval and in a weightbearing area. Common in diabetics. It can be very superficial or deep down to the bone. It must be treated aggressively by a podiatrist or surgeon.
