Can you tell me how difficult is hypospadia to fix in newborn boys?

Dr. George Klauber answered

Specializes in Pediatric Urology

We don't fix newborn: Hypospadias surgery is delayed 4 at least 6 months-of-age for anesthesia 2B maximally safe ; 4 penis to grow. Difficulty depends upon location of urinary opening, degree of chordee (curvature) ; size of penis. Choose pediatric urologist who does them all the time ; has good results. Experience makes all the difference. Call children's hospital ; ask urology resident whom s/he'd have fix their son.
