Can you provide some advice for someone who's had lasik eye surgery?

It depends: It depends on your symptoms or issues after lasik surgery. Based on your age you may need reading glasses. Most of the patients after lasik may develop dry eyes which you will need lubrication. If the vision change for both distance and near you need an eye exam for glasses.
