It depends: Most children in the 1st few years of life have 8-10 viral infections per year. The first year in daycare, that number can be higher. A fever is a temp >101 F. If your child has a fever, treat it with Tylenol (acetaminophen) to help him feel better, but the fever is not dangerous. The good news is that your child's immune system is getting stronger. See a doc if the fever is >101 >2-3 days or he is acting sicker
