Yes with practice: Thankfully the human is adaptable and can be trained. It is very important to provide positive feedback and plenty of repetition and you will be amazed what that person can accomplish. Good luck and well wishes this holiday season.

People with mild : Intellectual Disability have IQ's of 50-70 & can learn to read at a 3rd grade-6th grade level. People with Moderate Intellectual Disability have IQ's of 35-49. Those at the upper end of this range can learn pre-reading & "primer" skills. People with severe or profound intellectual disability do not learn to read.
