A member asked:

Can it be possible for a ct to miss an atypical such as mycoplasma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unusual: It would be unusual for a ct of the chest not to show any abnormalities in a patient with mycoplasma pneumonia, but it would also be difficult t o make a definitive diagnosis of mycoplasma from a ct scan. More likely the report would suggest an 'atypical infectious or inflammatory process'.
