A member asked:

What to do if i am 340lbs and dr says i produce too much insulin, does that make me diabetic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Obesity and insulin: You make too much Insulin because you are obese and you are Insulin resistant. The Insulin is high because it needs to be high to keep your glucose under control. This may work for a while, but in time your ability to produce high Insulin levels may wane, and your glucose will rise = diabetes. The solution is weight loss, which is more powerful than any medication.
