Possible: Dental radiographs will show the position of the teeth and let your dentist explain to you where they are located and if horizontally impacted.

Missing vs Impacted: There is a difference between wisdom teeth that are impacted and not visible in the mouth and wisdom teeth that are missing or never developed. Many patients will have impacted wisdom teeth and some patients may have one or more wisdom teeth that may be congenitally missing (never developed). A panoramic radiograph or study that allows fully visualization of the upper and lower jaws is suggested.
