Recovery: Early ambulation after any surgery, and especially after cesarean will decrease risk the risk for blood clots in the legs. Ambulation also speeds recovery of bowel function after surgery.

Cesarean section: Well, she was trying to get you up and going. Walking around after your operation decreases the risk of blood clots. Blood clots are a very serious complication of cesarean section and one of the leading causes of maternal deaths in the us.
