Can you tell me how accurate "ca 19.9" blood test is for detecting cancer?

Not good: Ca 19.9 can be useful to determine if a cancer is of pancreatic or biliary origin and most often is used to monitor response to therapy. It is not a screening test as it can go up in non malignant conditions and does not go up in all cancers. It is not meant to be drawn to "see if there's cancer". Best yo you.
