A member asked:

Can you help me find me a pedigree for a male who has 47, xyy syndrome (xyy syndrome)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: There is no such thing as a "pedigree" for xyy. This is a sporadic event and won't be reflected in the rest of the family, either his parents or his children. Learning the fundamental concepts of genetics is subtle. While other chromosomal anomalies (microdeletions, robertsonian and other translocations) can produce typical family trees, xyy won't -- it can't be passed on.
