A member asked:

Can you tell me about any thyroid cancer survivors with full body scan experience?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common: Most people who have had thyroid cancer are "survivors", since it is very uncommon to die of thyroid cancer. Full body scans are typically done to see if there is any evidence for thyroid cancer elsewhere in the body. You need to be on a low iodine diet for 2 weeks beforehand, and typically it is done after receiving thyrogen for 2 days.
