Specializes in Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine

Depends what: You are going for. The first visit you should expect a thorough history and physical exam, focusing more so on musculoskeletal issues, such as a strength and function. Beyond that, it would depend what you are seeing this type of physician for as they each treat a broad set of issues and patients.

Quality care: Both fields treat injured workers with a goal of getting them back to work safely and efficiently. education on job restrictions are included within both specialties and both have extensive knowledge of the workers compensation systems. Often occ med will initiate treatment and refer to phys med if needed. Your in good hands and your visit will probably be much like any other in your past
