Exercise: Regular exercise is#1 on the list followed byweight loss to her ideal body weight. These two alone will benefit over 50% of my patients. Avoid stimulents likecoffe, tea, and energy drinks. Salt restriction can be really big. Many processed foods are high in salt content and, here in the phoenix area, the drinking water has a high salt content. Avoid much Motrin or aleve (naproxen) as well.

Optimal diet: Achieve ideal wt, minimize salt, eliminate saturated fats, no fatty meats --- fish and egg whites are best protein sources, be very modest with red meats -- eat fruit, veggies, and whole grains, minimize caffeine, exercise daily, select foods rich in magnesium and potassium, avoid sugars, breads, pasta.
