A member asked:

My son is in an electric bed.his bloodpressure spikes 150/110 or 170/110 after being helped to go down stairs. he is 28 & has m.e should he be on meds

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Physiologic: Being helped to go downstairs may be the most stressful and strenuous work your son does? It's physiologic (normal) for BP to spike during strenuous work. It merely reflects physical deconditioning and the coping mechanisms our autonomic nervous system uses to assure good blood supply during a period of need . That should not be suppressed.
