A member asked:

Can worrying too much about a part of your body actually make it hurt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Brain is powerful...: Pain can be caused by many things, and worrying and even obsessing, if you will, over a particular part of the body can make it hurt. That being said, I do not simply ascribe pain to worry without doing a careful medical examination and complete medical history. Pain caused by worrying needs to be a diagnosis of exclusion. If this is truly the cause, there are treatments that can help.
