A member asked:

Does developing lattice mean the overall retina is thinner (along with still thinner lattice regions) than usual or just the lattice regions are thin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thin at lattice: Lattice is the retinas way of cementing the retina at a point of thinness or weakness. It becomes a stress point when it does this so we always examine the lattice area for any progression. There is no data on whether the rest of the retina is also thin but this is unlikely since there are areas in between the lattice that look normal.
