There may be none: Having an elevated uric acid by itself has no symptoms. Under certain conditions the elevated uric acid may cause joint pain and swelling or gouty arthritis or may cause kidney stones to form. Uric acid is a natural product of protein metabolism so limiting protein intake may help lower uric acid levels.
