A member asked:

Could first trimester spotting from low placenta cause long term bleeding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

During the pregnancy: A placenta that partially (or totally) covers the cervix is common very early in a pregnancy. If the placenta continues to cover the cervix throughout the pregnancy this can be associated with bleeding for the duration of the pregnancy. This will not cause long term bleeding after the pregnancy.
