If you strain your : vocal cords, as in yelling at a ball game, they can become a little swollen & red, causing some hoarseness. If you yell chronically, you can get " screamers' nodules." If it persists 2 weeks, have an ENT look at your vocal cords to figure out what's causing your intermittent hoarseness.
