Get professional : Help. It takes courage to accept help - but it can really improve your quality of life. Cognitive processing therapy (a type of cognitive behavioral therapy), emdr and virtual reality therapy are all effective. Psychiatric medications are often indicated.

Meds & psychotherapy: Get a apsychiatric referral for an evaluation for PTSD, and see if medication is warranted. Next, find a reputable psychotherapist in your area who specializes in PTSD. Meds and therapy as such are typically the best way to go. Group therapy can also be very effective.
