The most important: Question here is if the teen needs to lose weight. If she or he is not overweight - than don't lose weight. Same principals apply to teens for weight loss as do for adults. Eat healthfully ; be physically active. Aim for 7.5 to 8 hrs of sleep / night. Hydrate w at least 64 oz of water / day. Calories burned must > calories consumed. Do both cardio ; weight training. You can mix ; match different.
