Less than 1000 cal: Caloric requirements for each individual depend on gender, activity level, height, weight, age. Normal individuals with moderate activity usually eat about 2000 calories a day. Most important is the quality of food eaten. The 2000 calories should include 6-8 fruits and vegetable servings, whole grains, lean protein, and calcium containing foods.
