I get sudden blackouts when I stand up during work. Is this normal? Or something serious?

NO: This can come from inadequate fluid intake, anemia or other reasons why your blood pressure may be running low. Increase your fluid intake and maybe a little extra salt for now. See your physician for blood testing and physical exam to make sure you don't have anemia or other problems.

Wrong: You are aw ake and "functioning" when in a black-out. You just cannot store the memory. If on alcohol only- your bac is usually at least 0.200-0.250 and often higher. If in combo with sedatives, it can be seen at lower bacs.
