A member asked:

Can having gonorrhea go untreated for 6 to 7 months make you infertile?

Yes: Infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhea can cause disease in the upper reproductive tract (the fallopian tubes). This can cause scar tissue to develop that can make it more difficult to get pregnant. This also increases the risk of having a tubal pregnancy.

Yes: Unfortunately, the chance of infertility from one episode of gonorrhea is about 10%. It goes up a lot with each subsequent infection with chlamydia or gonorrhea. These infections are mostly preventable with always using condoms and limiting your number of sexual partners.
