A member asked:

Please tell me if it is possible that someone could develop autism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: The diagnosis of autism includes symptoms present as a young child. It is quite possible to have information processig problems that lead to self regulation and or social difficulty that only becomes notable later in life or symptoms that one just begins to recognize and understand later in life, but the correct diagnosis would most likely not be autism.
