May take time: Chronic low vit d is a prevalent problem. It may take some time with the large doses before it catches up with what may have been years of deficiency. Also, don't forget the value of sunlight. Some recommend up to 15 minutes a day to help increase the vitamin d levels.

I don't know: What dose you're taking and what you consider a "large" dose -- 2000 u of d3 is generally adequate for most people and a good starting dose -- but it takes 3 mod. For the new level to equilibrate and shouldn't be rechecked or dose adjusted before that time.
