Various: Most cysts that come from the wrist reflect a small amount of damage to the wrist joint. They swell up when the wrist swells from increased use or trauma. They can be aspirated (sucked out), left alone, or removed. There is always a chance that it will come back, since there is underlying damage to the wrist. Depending on the location, there is a very small chance of something more serious.
