Retinoschisis: Is a condition in which the retinal layers in a specific area split in half, usually in the peripheral part of the retina. Typically, these areas, called schisis cavities don't progress. Occasionally, if they get close enough to the center of the retina, they sometimes need to be treated. If you haven't seen an ophthalmologist, then you should schedule an appointment.
