No: Coughing, or the valsalva maneuver, may be therapeutic for supraventricular tachycardia. If you are having frequent premature beats, an evaluation for underlying structural heart disease should be undertaken. Precipitating triggers, such as tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine should be avoided. If you have persistent symptoms, a low-dose of a beta blocker may be recommended.
