Yes/ no: Propranolol is a good medication to control symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Unfortunately it (like all medicines) can cause side effects especially at higher doses. Other medications may potentially be substituted for propranolol, but they also may cause unwanted symptoms. It's complicated and you need to involve your doctor and an endocrinologist.
