Not normal: Severe pain, normal? Chronic pid isn't normal by any means. Your doctor may not be treating you with medication that is working. It's possible you have an infection other than one that responds to doxycycline. There are definitely bacteria and mycoplasms out there that are not going to get better with doxy. Consider seeing a different obgyn, an id doctor, or at university, one with id ob/gyn.

Prescribed 500 mg of flagyl 2x a day and 100mg of doxycycline 2x a day. I have BV but requested doxycycline in case of PID. I took two doses of flagyl the first day and then start the doxy the second day of taking flagyl. Will that affect treatment?
