A member asked:

Anaplastic thyroid cancer, surgery made but before treatment he got pneumonia lung? what is the case now? should start treatment or its the end?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Autonomy rules: Surgery is almost never curative but can help locally. There have been some responses by anaplastic cancer of the thyroid to chemotherapy that may give a year or two of good-quality life. If the patient feels strong enough and wants to try it, then it's his choice. If not, it is always possible to make a person with incurable cancer comfortable.
