Folic acid: Folic acid has been shown to reduce the risk of neural tube defects and most diets are deficient in it. Beyond that, follow a balanced diet, go easy on the sweets and deserts, avoid alcohol, smoking, and limit your caffeine. Get plenty of rest and get regular exercise. Good luck!
